Stillwater Sports is proud to have been awarded the \u201c2019 Participation Event of the Year Award\u201d for the FNB Run Your City Series, at the recently held Hollard Sport Industry Awards that took place at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg on Friday 22 November.<\/p>\n

This award comes five years after Stillwater Sports, one of South Africa\u2019s leading sports marketing agencies, conceptualized and produced the first event in the series, in what has become a phenomenon on the South African sporting landscape.<\/p>\n

According to Michael Meyer, founder of the series and Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, receiving the award is a humbling experience.\u00a0 \u201cWhen we created the first event with its huge focus on innovation in road running, it was a true challenge. But within five years, the series is a tremendous success for our sponsors, and we continue to focus on the superb experience that each and every entrant has when entering our events.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great honour to receive the Hollard Sport Industry Award for the FNB Run Your City Series,\u201d says Dezroy Poole, Stillwater Sports Director.\u00a0 \u201cOur team puts in a lot of time pre, during and post event.\u00a0 Seeing hard work pay off on event day truly is a special experience.\u00a0 Receiving an award for it is the cherry on the cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting on the award Agne du Plessis, Stillwater Sports General Manager:\u00a0 Road Running said: \u201cHosting four mass participation road races (three in South Africa and one in Mozambique) annually is a massive challenge that we gladly accepted and proudly delivered on.\u00a0 We\u2019re blessed with a fantastic team, incredible sponsors and partners, and amazing world class athletes.\u00a0 It\u2019s a winning recipe.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a mass participation road race series, the FNB Run Your City Series consists of four events that take runners on a memorable journey through the streets of its host city, highlighting iconic landmarks while featuring lively performances by leading performing arts groups.\u00a0 Each event also features an \u201celite racing\u201d element with local and international star athletes vying for their share in an impressive prize purse.<\/p>\n

In 2019 the FNB Run Your City Series boasted close to 40 000 runners in the series which includes the:<\/p>\n
